Runner's World's
Quote of the day:

Whatever we are working on, mulling over, avoiding, contemplating facing, or rehearsing in our minds becomes literal. It's you and the thing and the thing becomes the hill and there you are — taking it on. There is a certain amount of clarity that oxygen deprivation provides. Couple that with pain and you get the inner hum that becomes white noise and suddenly you can think.

Local info for Central Kansas area runners...

Whether you’re slow or fast, sometimes you need to find a race to motivate you to keep running and training. Problem: Unless you’re a die-hard race-finder willing to troll dozens of websites and track down incomplete info with follow-up phone calls and emails, you’ll miss a lot of the easily-accessible races that central Kansans could enjoy.

Use the info here to get friends involved in some area races - not just the hard-core striders, but the recreational runners, dedicated walkers, and the I-wanna-run-a-marathon-someday types who just need a little encouragement!

Run, Kansas, run.

Online Poll: Salina Running Buddies and the Salina Running Company will soon be starting a running club where runners can have a community to help each other. We would like to get runners together to run daily or weekly. Salina Running Buddies would like to know what time of day do you usually run, early morning, early evening, late evening? Please email us at salinarunningbuddes@gmail.com and let us know when you like to run. Thanks for your input.
